Avoid public transport or hiring a car, where possible- Typhoons are a frequent threat to the Philippines, though these typically occur June – December, which often lead to flooding or landslides, so check the forecast prior to travelling- Levels of crime can be high, particularly terrorism as well as kidnapping of international travellers throughout the southern Philippines.
